About the Production

Sod House Theater has teamed up with The University of Minnesota’s Center for Orphan Drug Research to develop a new production focused on bringing attention to those diagnosed with a rare disease. The collaboration will adapt the Greek tragedy, Philoctetes, to help a Upper Midwest audience gain greater awareness and deeper understanding of the medical, economic, psychological, and social challenges facing people with rare diseases.  Kevin Kling, best known for his popular commentaries on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, has adapted the Greek story to a modern play about rare disease.

The production will perform the show during the month of October in Minneapolis, Hastings, Morris, Rochester, Duluth, Prescott WI and Fargo ND. 

Tickets are required, reserve yours today. The performances are free, but seating is limited; so please only reserve the seats you will use. Tickets will all be available at the will call box office and a freewill offering is encouraged at the time of pick-up.

Note that all venues require the audience members to wear a mask for the performances.
